The Lightning Boy Foundation, a nonprofit cultural organization, is grateful to partner with the Historic La Fonda on the Plaza for an eighth time to celebrate its efforts to nurture and inspire the Native youth of Northern New Mexico. The weekend will kick off on the Friday following Thanksgiving with a two-day art market with local vendors and Indigenous artists in the downstairs New Mexico and Santa Fe Rooms at La Fonda behind the La PLazuela restaurant. Come browse the beautiful art and jewelry that will make a unique Christmas gift for a loved one or for yourself! Partake in the silent auction with donated pieces from participating artists and experiences from local businesses and organizations. The art show and silent auction will begin on Friday at noon and run until 8pm with hoop dance performances taking place in the Santa Fe Room every two hours throughout the day (12P, 2PM 4pm, 6pm & 8pm). Step outside to the Santa Fe Plaza to experience the Annual Holiday Plaza Lighting beginning at 4:30PM and culminating with Mayor Webber flipping the switch to 30,000 LED lights at 6:15PM.
Come back Saturday morning for the second day of the art market and silent auction as well as more hoop dance performances and other performers, beginning at 10AM and continuing until 4PM. Performances will occur every two hours again in the Santa Fe Room: 10AM, 12PM, 2PM & 4PM. Bidding for the silent auction will end at 4PM in the New Mexico Room where winners can pick up and pay for their items. Cash, check and credit card are accepted with proceeds benefiting the Lightning Boy Foundation nonprofit charity.
The best is yet to come at the famous annual Lightning Boy Charity Dinner & Live Auction on Saturday, November 29 at 6:30PM in the Lumpkins Ballroom. Indulge in a fabulous La Fonda Plated Dinner with cash bar and complimentary wine. Guests will witness the premiere of an unforgettable dance performance and collaboration of Valentino's trifecta dance skills: Tradtional Pueblo Dance (MaaTuu Dance Group) + Traditional Hoop Dance (Lightning Boy Hoop Dancers) + Break Dance (Santa Fe Breakin' Academy). Following dinner and performance, the evening will conclude with the famous Lightning Boy Live Auction to benefit the mission of the Foundation and led by auctioneer Mark Johnson at 7:30PM. Featured artists include George Alexander, Monty Singer, Kenneth Johnson, Toby Morfiin, Robert Dale Tsosie & MORE!
Attendees and sponsors have the opportunity to choose from platinum, gold or silver tables with perks including prime seating, gift bags, personal or business logo in printed program - further details available at check out.
